Biography

Arnar Vik is an author from Oslo, Norway, and writes modern, high intensity thrillers rooted in Norwegian settings and international conflict zones. His stories blend technical accuracy with fast paced suspense, drawing inspiration from todays real world operational environments and contemporary geopolitical tensions. His goal is always to create thrillers that feel authentic—whether he’s portraying a police investigator or a special operator from the Navy frogmen. His novels Ospreys and Akula both emerged through an organic writing process where the story often took unexpected turns. As he puts it, “The books came to life on the computer screen in front of me, and the process was a lot of fun.” This spontaneity is paired with a clear ambition: “It was important to me to write more believable characters and action than much of what you find in Norwegian crime fiction today.” Vik’s books are known for short chapters, tight structure, and a strong page turner drive. He aims to give readers a sense of how Norwegian police and intelligence services might operate when the stakes are high, balancing realism with pure entertainment from a good storyline. When he’s not writing, he enjoys a quiet life with his wife, spending time with good friends boating around on the fjord or at the cabin in the woods. At home, Arnar is the type who prefers his record player and a glass of Sangiovese over social media. Arnar is currently writing on his third suspense novel in the series, Proxy.
